The roots of A&M Clothing and Shoes date back to August 1952, when partners Frank Arth and Henry Michaud opened the original A & M Store in Westlock, Alberta. Founded on a simple promise that "reputation is built on faith," the business quickly became a trusted staple for quality dry goods and family footwear in the community.
Henry Michaud left the business in 1968, paving the way for the storefront to evolve into a dedicated, independent family operation. In 1985, the business entered its next major chapter, rebranding as Arth’s Fashion Centre to serve generations of families across northern and central Alberta with casual lifestyle apparel and footwear.
Following a modern transition between 2022 and 2023, the store proudly embraced its heritage by returning to its original roots under the name A&M Clothing and Shoes (Arths and members). Today, more than 70 years after our first advertisement went to print, we remain deeply committed to the same family-focused values, exceptional personal service, and quality curation that Frank and Henry started with in 1952.
